How to Get Rid of Your Linea Nigra After Pregnancy

Yes, I know… the pregnancy line down your belly is natural and due to hormones and all of my friends tell me that it will fade in no time. But I’m 7 weeks post birth, still have the line AND the inside of my belly button is black too. Even my husband was like “are you sure it’s not just dirty?” *eye roll* so I’m pretty much over it.

I was reading online about ways to lighten it and found a site that said to use rubbing alcohol. I really did not think it would work, but I wanted to try it anyway…

You guys, it seems to have worked! I have only done it about 3 times now, once a week – you can probably do it more often – I honestly just forget to. I just pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab, and GENTLY rub the line. (I scrubbed it a little too hard the first time and created a raw spot as you can see in the photo below. So don’t do what I did lol…) I also seem to have dark splotchy areas around the belly button so I have been using it on that part too.

Okay this pic is kinda gross, I apologize, but it’s what came off of my skin when I rubbed a little bit! I can only assume it was from the line and not dirt because I had just showered lol. Crazy right? I also use my battery powered facial cleansing brush on it in the shower about once a week with an exfoliating wash. I will come back and post more pictures to compare as I continue to do it, and I’m going to try to remember to do it once a day (maybe this post will motivate me lol). Anyway, it’s a lot lighter than it was and I’m curious to see how long it will take until it’s completely faded…. stay tuned and I’ll let you know!
